Systems and Network Integration
More than ever, organisations rely on network-enabled solutions to meet their business goals. That requirement translates into the successful implementation and integration of network equipment coupled with effective project management.
We have worked on a multitude of projects involving a wide range of software and hardware components. Most of the time, there are no turnkey solutions for a specific need. This drives the need of integrating best-of-breed hardware and software components to form the perfect solution.
List of Systems & Network Integration projects
Networking
Our engineers have helped design and build Switzerland's first MPLS backbone. We implemented mission critical data networks in banks, insurance companies and different industries. With our many years of experience (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert "CCIE" since 1995) we know how to deal most of the network protocols in use today.
- MPLS, ATM, BGP4, ISIS, OSPF, Bridging, Switching
- IP, SNA, DecNet IV/V, IPX, AppleTalk
- International VPNs (leased lines, frame relay, ADSL, cable and ISDN)
- Advanced routing (Linux iptables/iproute2)
- Advanced queuing, VoIP
Network Management
Organisations depend on their network and security infrastructure. The cost of ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of business data is significant and the costs of network downtime can be critical. The active management of all neworked components is therefore a big priority for most organisations. A couple of tools form our standard group of network management tools we and our customers rely on.
- Nagios service and network monitoring program
- MRTG / RRD traffic load monitor on network-links
- Smoke Ping network latency measurement tool
- Nessus vulnerability scanner
- nmap network scanner
Internet Applications
We mainly rely on proven Open Source packages to provide Internet services. These services are typically deployed on Linux platforms. We have designed and implemented solutions for both web and mail services.
Integration with antivirus scanners and SPAM blockers.
- Web server (Apache, AOLServer)
- E-Mail (Postfix SMTP MTA, Cyrus & Courier-IMAP)
Central authentication solutions using LDAP
- Directories and Authentication (OpenLDAP)
- SASL authentication
Project-oriented distributed filesystem using Subversion
- Revision Control system, distributed filesystem (Subversion)
Workgroup and Collaboration Software
Web-enabled groupware functionality is a big asset of every service driven organisation.
- OpenGroupware.org groupware server
- dotProject project management
- Mediawiki wiki package
- OpenACS community framework
Content Management Systems CMS
A lot of our projects involve the publication of information on the web. Be it documentation sites on the Intranet or Internet web sites. We use different packages depending on the specific needs.
Databases
We have developped database-driven client/server applications in the past. Today, we use databases to power log file analysis and storage for all sorts of data, e.g. web site content.
- PostgreSQL
- mySQL
- BerkeleyDB
Disk Management
SAN's are fast and ideal to manage disk capacity and redundancy. The provide a great deal of flexibility in a data center.
- Qlogic host adapter
- EMC2 Clarion, Navisphare, Naviclient, PowerPath
- Oracle Cluster Filesystem OCFS2
- multipath-tools
- Logical Volume Management LVM2
- Enterprise Volume Management System EVMS
- Veritas Volume Manger
