Native IPv6 over Swisscom VDSL

Thanks to our friends at nts.workspace we now have native IPv6 on our VDSL line at home.

There was some fighting with the Vyatta router as there is no support for IPv6CP in VC 6 Alpha 3 that I'm currently using. I got it to work by using another ppp package and some manual edits.

www.calivia.com and sipx-wiki.calivia.com over IPv6

www.calivia.com as well as sipx-wiki.calivia.com are now reachable over IPv6. Thanks to Simon at nts.workspace we now have native IPv6 with a /48 prefix available for our servers.

After I read about Sharing an IPv4 Address Across Multiple Subscribers I got very scared about the future of the Internet and when I found Address Sharing—Coming to a Network near You my fear got even worse.

I've been reading Chris Saul's blog through planetsun.org and the very next morning I got touched by business genius myself. One of my VoIP ITSPs has cancelled a DID I had registered with them. Without notice, just like that. The termination e-mail claims I haven't used the number in more than 365 days even though it had been active for only 60 days and it has been registered all the time with sipXecs, my Open Source IP PBX of choice.

CAcert Assurer Challenge Test

Today, I finally passed the CAcert.org assurer challenge test with 92% on the third attempt. I had completely forgotten about this new requirement until I wanted to assure someone today only to find out that now one needs both the assurer test and at least 100 points.
