Building a Linux cluster with OCFS2, multipath-tools and Linux-HA

We have built a Linux cluster using some fine software. The cluster runs an active/passive Oracle database. The ingredients of our cluster are:

Hardware

  • 2 HP ProLiant DL385 (2 AMD Opteron 2.2GHz, 9GB RAM)
  • 2 QLogic 2340 HBAs per host
  • 3 local disks in a RAID-1 configuration (1 hot-spare disk)
  • Brocade Silkworm
  • Hitachi SAN (OPEN-V and DF600F)
